Group Interaction or Support Groups

The purpose of cancer support groups is to bring together people affected by cancer to help them cope with the challenges they may face. A support group can provide a safe environment for people to get together, share their experience with cancer, obtain additional information, and learn coping skills in a non-judgmental environment.

A support group may provide advocacy, practical assistance, and social activities. Members of support groups can meet at times and places convenient for them, including online. A cancer support group may focus on a particular type, such as prostate, breast or any cancer.
